Wind of the Soul on Twitter
January 24th, 2009 by John Wolfe
If you’ve looked at the sidebar lately (to the left, about a quarter of the way down), you’ve noticed I’m including an rss feed from Twitter. I was inspired to include it after seeing Steve Pavlina’s updates in his blog. Thanks for the idea Steve. Twitter is a sort of micro or mini-blogging and social networking service. People gather there for a variety of reasons, but the catch is you only have 140 characters to state your business. Basically, it’s a way of talking about what you’re currently doing in short snippets.
Initially, I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy it, but after being pretty long winded in my blog posts, it’s nice to be a lot less so.
Each day, I try to include a Twitter update of what I’m doing, along with sprinkling in some of my own feelings and ideas on reality, consciousness, and my journey through life.
After being on Twitter for about a week, and enjoying the format, I got to thinking, “Why only blog fairly lengthy posts at Wind of the Soul?” “Why not make smaller, even more consistent posts, and just add in some lengthier, meatier selections when I feel like it?” So, that’s exactly what I’m going to do. If I can leave shorter, more concise tidbits of my own inner feelings on spirituality and self-help at Twitter, then I can surely do the same thing right here. Relatively speaking, many posts are going to be small, but they will still be a lot larger than 140 characters.
I’d love to have you as a friend or Twitter “follower” (I don’t like that term) as they’re called. If you’re interested, please check out the Wind of the Soul Twitter Page.
