Manifesting Desirable Results Through Balance

November 24th, 2007 by John Wolfe

As we come to an understanding that our individual reality is being affected not only by our actions, but also by the emotional states that drive our actions; we must determine a proper balance if we wish to be deliberate (highly effective) fulfilled creators. Most people have caused a large imbalance in their lives by devoting almost one hundred percent of their energy to the action portion of this equation. They’re basically leaping before they feel. And while most inadvertently realize their actions flow much smoother when they feel good, they still miss how connected and intertwined their emotions are in this process.

It’s easy to understand why many have lost sight of their emotional creative power. In a material based form of reality we become conditioned to believe we must exert extreme amounts of physical force to cause any form of change in our surroundings. While this is partially true, it’s not the only factor at play.

Just because we are focused upon physical bodies doesn’t mean we are purely physical entities. If this were the case, there would be no purpose for our feelings or emotions. We would maneuver from point A to point B without any internal feeling responses whatsoever. It’s the emotions that serve to remind us of our link up with the portion of ourselves, which remains nonphysical. It’s also the emotions which provide signals along the way, indicating whether we are on a path whose outcome will be pleasing to us.

From a scientific point of view our feelings are only chemical reactions within the brain, yet those minute reactions have the ability to inspire a drive toward physical locomotion. And for those that are aware of how to harness them- they serve to promote smooth flowing, highly effective, desirable, result producing locomotion.

I’m careful when I use words like harness because I don’t mean to indicate we should suppress or squelch our emotions. That approach only serves to stifle any awareness of the inspiration behind our physical actions and the results we receive.

When I say harness, I’m referring to an alignment of emotion in conjunction with action. It’s about bringing both on to the same page prior to moving forward in any endeavor. Only then can our actions be free of unnecessary struggle and effort. And only then can we realize purpose in what we do because we will have made a conscious emotional decision about what feels best for us.

Once this becomes our way of being, it will serve as our guidance prior to becoming involved in any undertaking. Approaching substantial action in this manner will constantly provide desirable results because we will no longer be second guessing our decisions. Second guessing ourselves serves as a severe form of self sabotage and undermines our confidence and the belief in our abilities. When we are in tune with our emotions, self sabotage becomes an unlikely possibility because we will no longer venture into a course of action that feels out of range with what inspires us and brings us joy.

There are many teachers that speak very heavily about action as they address subjects like personal development, the law of attraction and the intentional creation of our reality, so much so that they seem to be overstressing the action portion. I agree that action is quite necessary, when discussing these subjects, however action means very little if we never learn to hone our emotions right alongside it (and preferably before it).

Although someone can see accomplishment (through physical action) without emotional alignment, they may not be performing at their highest potential, nor receiving the results they are hoping for. It means there is a lot of spent energy that could be directed in a more beneficial manner, both in terms of blood, sweat and tears and the rewards that are being reaped from their action.

It’s also true that many (although far less than the action oriented crowd) spend too much of their time focusing on their emotional responses and taking very little action. It’s important to acknowledge and harness our emotions, but at some point the action portion of the equation needs to kick in. The Universe is constantly aiding us in any endeavor we want to pursue, yet it can only do so through the methods and means that we have set into motion or are beginning to set into motion.

For example, if someone is visualizing (with a lot of great intense feeling) the mate of their dreams coming into their life, yet they never date and never attend social gatherings, then they would be limiting the means for the Universe to set up circumstances in which they could meet their ideal mate. That’s not to say it couldn’t happen in some other manner, but it does narrow the means for the manifestation of their desire. After emotionally aligning with the type of person they want to be with and feeling what it would feel like to have such a relationship, it’s time to interact with others.

We have to personally assess whether we are far too action oriented or if we spend too much time working with our emotions. I have been at both ends of the spectrum during different times in my life. I worked a job for years that was extremely physically demanding, even to the point of incurring multiple injuries, which required surgery. The rewards and benefits were no where near being equal to the amount of effort I put forth.

I was emotionally unhappy and unfulfilled at this job, yet I tried to compensate with more and more action. And I’ve also been at the point where my emotions ruled much of my life, as I spent far too much time over thinking every decision and choice I made. In all honesty, this latter scenario is an ongoing situation that I continue to work through.

I’ve found it’s really about striking a balance. When we lean too far in one direction or another, the results we are receiving will begin to reflect this. Our life experience always sends us signals when there is too much imbalance between our actions and emotions.

On the other hand, when we are firing equally on all cylinders emotionally and physically, the desired results flow to us smoothly and easily. Even the things that would normally appear as roadblocks become minor speed bumps along the way.

Yep, I’m going through WindoftheSoul withdrawl, so time to start archiving on your website. This is a really great post I truly wish all of humanity could read with an open mind and heart. You mentioned–It’s easy to understand why many have lost sight of their emotional creative power. In a material based form of reality we become conditioned to believe we must exert extreme amounts of physical force to cause any form of change in our surroundings.– When a person is able to step OUTSIDE of this societal norm and what THEY HAVE BEEN TOLD to like, want, desire, crave, must have….it’s so quick and obvious to see the entire material world is more like a program of the Matrix.

Granted, the word “matrix” is tossed around all to much these days but it does help the visual for most of seeing that what they “think” is life as they know it is actually part of a program of sorts. Yes, everything is IN Divine Timing and we are all here and playing our “roles” for very good reasons but I am beyond forever grateful to my Mother who taught us at an early age that real beauty is the sun setting, the stars in the sky, the way the creek water in the mountains carves out the landscape of nature. She never put any value on label names, or must have items, or luxury cars, or (thank god!) high heeled uncomfortable shoes! Arggg! If you were to ask some of those women, “would you rather be in your fluffy slippers right now?” I bet ya they would say yes. So then I would ask, “well then WHY are you wearing those uncomfortable shoes?” The answer would be: a) to fit it with the others b) it makes their legs look sexy for men c) it’s NOT appropiate to wear anything other than heels in public.

Then I would ask them, “why–where did you come up with that conclusion?” To where most would say, “that’s just how it is.” They really wouldn’t have an exact answer. Same for fancy shinny luxury cars, “WHY do you have one?” “Cause it’s the thing to have to “look” rich and wealthy, to show that I AM “someone” in society.” Again I would ask, “where did you come up with that conclusion?” One word in my opinion PROGRAMMING by society. My “programming” was one of Earth, nature, our Creator’s stunning beauty in all and the natural resources Earth and our Creator provides on a constant basis.

I know you think I can’t stand the words law of attraction due to it’s over-use but this is not so. For me, I understand what the law of attraction means as there are many other “laws” of the Universe that apply here as well, including the law of delebrate intention and creation, which is sort of the same I suppose. I think what you feel from me regarding the constant online talk of the law of attraction is just as you stated here. It’s being hyped on soooo much that often times the ones preaching this law are forgetting, or neglecting, to tell those people the follow ups about it. You stated it beautifully my friend — “however action means very little if we never learn to hone our emotions right alongside it (and preferably before it).”

Again, this is where I see the “law of attraction” being used for, guess…MORE MONEY, fancier cars, bigger home, the perfect love life partner, the best kids, the most friends, the list is never ending. I’ve seen a countless amount of humans on line who would get highly discouraged after a month of “thinking” of what they want and nothing happens or comes their way so they are quick to toss out the entire notion of it all. It seems if there is NO instant gratification in their lives, they’re done! Thankfully, since I was about 8, Mom taught us about DIVINE TIMING and the DIVINE PLAN. Everything, EVERYTHING, has a reason for happening in the manner that it does. If what we want doesn’t come, maybe it wasn’t meant to. If something we want is slow as a snail getting to us, again, there IS A REASON for that. Not a single “thing” in our lives is out of place. Everything IN our personal lives and outside of us is unfolding just as the Divine Plan intended it to.

It’s such a huge subject matter I would write 5 more pages of my thoughts regarding this very subject. But I shared the jest of it and you, knowing me as you do, understand fully where I’m coming from. This is a brilliant post Hun, it really is. Again, I’m very sorry for creating a comment as long as your blog entry. That is never my intention but your work inspires my soul to express itself on a deeeeeeep down level. I will be pleased when your schedule can let up a bit and you can begin slowly posting on WindoftheSoul again. Love your Halloween fun but I doooooooo miss your profound deep spiritual thoughts on whatever moves you at that time.

Thank you for your kindness always John, your a highly unique person and thank you also for your gentle patience with all of my comments I leave all over the board. This is thee most I’ve ever shared about myself or my thoughts online openly like this. I’m very private and reserved from sharing online. You come along and I’m just spewing out all sorts of things. ;-) Have a beautiful week and I look forward to catching up with ya again soon.

    Many Blessings, Goldie~~~

I just had to add this because this is Sooooooooo true, as time has revealed to me, you said: “Even the things that would normally appear as roadblocks become minor speed bumps along the way.” Isn’t THAT the truth. At the time, those roadblocks were something else! Many, if not all, say time will heal and though it’s never believed at that current moment in time, it does prove to be true. Before to long, you can actually look back on that moment, have great gratitude for learing such an experience and then moving forward with life.

There is a saying: When one door closes, a brand new one opens. Again I find this most accurate! This is where divine timing really comes into play. When I think back, to what it took to have me where I’m at today — right now, WOW!!! If one single of those experiences had changed even by a matter of 1-2 seconds, I would not be here surrounded by the beauty of the heart felt blessings in my life right now. So, would I go through those roadblocks to get to where I’m at now?

ABSOLUTELY! I cherish who I am as a person for it’s taking MANY roadblocks to get me to where I’m at right now, which is heavenly :-)

On an off note, I am sorry for commenting so much. I will/do fully understand if you need to edit anything or delete. I totally understand. With even one blog entry of yours, upon re-reading it again, I picked up even more than before. Which in return means leaving another comment ;-) I will try to tone it down though….I’ll try ;-)

Thank you for your kindness, as always, John and your patience with my rather long comments. Between being a fast typer and an at-home writer, my fingers CAN keep up with my thoughts. Before I know it, I’ve left a letter of a comment, yikes! So thank you for your patience and thank you again for WindoftheSoul~~~

    Many Blessings, G~~~
