It’s great to hear from you. I’m glad you’re enjoying the audio version. Is that the one with Ed Asner reading the part of god? I know what you mean about the rabbit hole. Everyday is an adventure in digging deeper within. Even if I’m not actively learning something from others on any given day, I’m forever challenging my own limited scope of interpreting reality. If we apply ourselves, it’s easy to see there’s no end to broadening our horizons.

Thank you so much for entering and for sharing a little of your personal journey. It’s unfortunate, but at the same time beneficial that religion (and some spiritual teachings as well) use fear as the “hook” to keep people coming back for more. The reason I say it can be beneficial is because of the awakening which can occur once we see past the fear tactics. If it weren’t for the experience of religion, many of us would not be the freethinkers we are today.

While I believe there is nothing wrong with having a materialistically abundant lifestyle, the problem arises when we over attach our happiness to the constant result of needing to acquire more and more. An interesting bit of irony here, whenever I find myself in a position to afford an item which previously was unattainable, I discover I no longer want it anyway. This outcome has become the norm since I’ve begun pursuing my own inner wisdom and finding happiness to be a state of being which is less and less attached to external outcomes.

That’s been a valuable piece of understanding for me as well – to come to know judgment is only human deep and exists in no other place outside our reactions. I’m still not able to fully apply this knowledge at all times because conditioning has taught me to label actions, but in theory I know it to be true.

Thank you for entering. Someone had the entire film on You Tube about two years ago (divided into eight parts), but it’s been taken down. I haven’t had a chance to listen to the soundtrack by itself. Whenever I watch the film, I’m so caught up in the screenplay, I forget about the musical score.

That’s exactly why I feel we each have the ability to create the change. By first setting our own internal and external example; we shine that very light you mentioned, which in turn is a way of giving “permission” to others to do the same. After so many years of negative, social conditioning, we almost need to know it’s OK to reach for our human and spiritual potential.
