A Wind of the Soul visitor sent me a great email just a few days ago. He had listened to my law of attraction podcast and was specifically interested in the segment where I discussed receiving two pennies through seemingly mystical means. In his letter, he asked if I fully believed in my abilities to manifest financial wealth and abundance, without the need to take any physical action. He also was curious to know whether or not I was capable of realizing my true power and if so, why I would choose to continue pursuing my online businesses for bringing in income, if I indeed was in tune with my capabilities?

I love all of the feedback I receive from my visitors, but I truly appreciate it when someone asks probing questions, such as these. I’m not at all offended or put off by such questions, as they help me to consider new ways of looking at the subjects I frequently discuss. They also provide me with some insight into what my visitors are taking away from and bringing to my blog posts and podcasts.

In honestly answering his questions, I stated I do not believe enough in my power of instantaneous materialization to remove the need for taking all physical action. Over time, I have developed a belief in a balance and a synergy between my thoughts and my required actions for manifesting those thoughts.

However, I do believe there is a small amount of people, on this planet, which have the ability to materialize (any and all) items from thin air. They’ve either developed and honed this ability or never were taught to associate materialization with action, hence their lack of requirement for doing so. There are numerous accounts of such individuals residing in remote locations of the globe. While some may in fact be fraudulent claims, I do believe the ability honestly exists in some. My encounter with the very strange appearance of two pennies does provide me with a small glimpse into this phenomenon; while helping me to grasp its validity.

The irony in all of this – even if I awoke tomorrow with the complete ability to instantaneously materialize any object I chose (including money), from thin air; I wouldn’t stop taking physical action regarding my income generating pursuits. This is primarily due to the fact I so thoroughly enjoy everything I do, that I would do it all for free, but it is also because I believe we are residing in a physically based environment for a reason.

At least, during this point in our spiritual awareness, most of us are meant to be a part of the cause and effect link between thought, action and manifestation. To initially create with our minds and then allow our bodies to follow suit, bringing forth what we mentally conceive, is so thrilling and joyously satisfying. I believe it is a large part of why source chooses to experience itself through us in this specific plane of existence. Just because some appear to be capable of “overcoming” physical action does not mean they are more spiritually advanced than others who have not.

There are plenty of non-physical planes where the energy of all that is can consistently experience instantaneous manifestations of thought forms, minus any physical action. But to be in this physical place, at this moment, where our actions count for so much, is no accident. I know some believe this “level” of existence is some sort of practice arena in which we are meant to hone our abilities of manifestation. It’s often believed the earth plane is for those that aren’t yet responsible enough to exist in pure thought environments.

Where this line of thinking emerges from, I am not sure. But I am certain every single one of us transitions, immediately after this physical experience, into pure thought environments anyway. So, why do we all suddenly attain this so called worthiness after we pass on, yet it wasn’t granted to us while we are physically focused?

I view our spiritual existence slightly differently. I don’t believe the Universe is set up with levels of reward or punishment that are independent from us. I believe we are all equally gifted creators, because we are THE creator, no matter what plane of being we are occupying in the moment of now. Our experiences are simply that. They are not about achieving a specific degree of responsible behavior, to be rewarded by advancing to the “head of the class” in future dimensions.

I believe those types of ideas are conceived from the human mind, where we fret over competition and status. We are meant to create and emotionally experience our creations from our current standpoint (no matter where that may be), not devise means for achieving levels of advancement. All of our experiences and the environment we occupy, in this moment, represent the resources we draw upon for creation. Physical manipulation of energy happens to be one of those resources. We are where we are for a reason and I feel that reason is to experience a physical vehicle and all of its physically creative capabilities.

So, where does this leave me concerning the meaning of the two pennies? I believe they were providing a glimpse into how powerful our intentions can be and they were a representation of my consistent thoughts of abundance.

Are we completely dependent upon physical action to provide financial stability or anything else for that matter in the physical Universe? Maybe not- maybe mass consciousness will eventually know how to perform instantaneous materializations, at a grand scale, even in the physically based Universe. But imagine what we would be missing if we could choose to eliminate a large portion of physicality from the physical world. I believe that would be defeating the purpose of being here in the first place.

Once again, I want to thank the individual for sending their email. In this post, I was not at all making light of their questions or trying to retaliate. Rather, their questions stimulated something deeper within me which I felt compelled to write about. For that I’m extremely appreciative. Their email provided me with another angle for viewing my own physicality and honoring it in a way I frequently neglect.

I’d like to take an opportunity in this post to briefly discuss my blogging style, since I have been receiving some questions regarding how frequently Wind of the Soul will be updated. Although this website is only a couple of months old, the content does date back to May of 2007. If you scroll through the archives page, you’ll find a wide variety of update patterns. At times I have written two posts over the course of three days and at other times I have gone as long as ten or twelve days before adding content.

This fluctuation is due to a couple of reasons. The first is because I don’t ever want to mechanize my writing or my audio recordings. Since I’m blogging about spirituality and self-help topics, which stem from my inner-personal perspective, I don’t believe in timetables or forcing the flow of the work. The second reason is because I divide my time between Wind of the Soul and Season of Shadows (my Halloween and paranormal site). As October 31st draws closer, I tend to get even busier with my Halloween preparations.

In the world of blogging, it’s generally accepted that updates should be very consistent in order to build large amounts of traffic. I will admit I have, at times, felt that kind of pressure to conform. But every time I get caught up in that mindset, my writing (along with my well being) suffers.

I’ve done my best to unplug from the commonly accepted ideas pertaining to building a [financially] successful blog because my measures of success don’t hinge primarily on money. I don’t believe in performing or making Wind of the Soul perform. I believe in effortlessly, passionately feeling for my work and creatively expressing it when the time is right. And I also believe in embodying what I write about.

My measures of success come from being sincere, honest, helpful and as genuine with my visitors as possible. Do I hope to consistently bring in a profit from this site, to support myself, while helping others? Absolutely, however, my lifestyle is so extremely simplistic and minimalistic (because I prefer it that way); I don’t require record breaking income levels.

Since my inspiration for writing does not stem from always trying to bring in more and more traffic i.e. money, money, money, you won’t find me beating you over the head with blog updates which represent nothing more than glorified “fillers”. I would rather go a substantial amount of time between updates, than waste your time with consistent repetitive fluff that adds little or nothing beneficial to your life.

I can’t ever promise how frequently you will find new content added. However, I can promise new content will always eventually be added and will only be posted when I believe it to be worthwhile. With that being said, you’re more than welcome to subscribe via email to Wind of the Soul by using the subscription box at the top left hand side of any page on this site. In doing so, you’ll always know when the blog has been updated. The folks at Feedburner will never share any of your information and the emails you will receive (each time I add a new entry) include the entire blog post, minus any large amounts of html or advertisements.

Thanks for your continued support of Wind of the Soul.

Question: My question pertains to the comatose state. Could you give your opinion on comas and whether or not you believe there’s a connection between the consciousness of a coma patient and the astral plane? Despite the fact most patients appear unresponsive, is their consciousness fully aware and possibly traveling outside the body? – Sheena

Answer: I absolutely believe comas provide the means for a patient’s awareness to pursue nonphysical realms. However, I can’t say for certain they are actually spending time on the astral plane. I feel the term astral plane has become a sort of catch all for anything deemed nonphysical, but I do believe the coma patient’s consciousness is extremely busy exploring other avenues of existence.

If we have what many call a higher self (and I believe we do), then that higher self has the ability to extend into many other environments while its focus vehicle rests in a hospital bed, or anywhere else for that matter. I actually believe our higher self is focusing upon several states of existence and physical vehicles simultaneously, at all times, but we are only aware of this one specific personality with which we primarily identify. I spoke about this theory in Altered States of Consciousness & Aspects of Awareness.

If we think of a coma in terms of a really deep state of sleep, then we can more easily understand the manner in which our consciousness shifts its focus away from the physical body. I believe the dream environments we encounter on a nightly basis are evidence of the voyages our awareness takes while our bodies are at rest. The coma would be very similar to this, only from a deeper point of “suspended animation,” regarding the patient’s body.

Now, based on your question, it sounds like you may also be asking why people go into comas from a metaphysical standpoint? This I can’t be certain about, but I believe comas may be a way for the higher self to protect the focus personality and the physical vehicle belonging to the comatose patient. This may be just as true of medically induced comas as it is of those resulting from accidents or medical conditions.

If our higher awareness feels it’s in our best interest, especially if someone has undergone some traumatic event, then these events may be better dealt with by withdrawing a portion of awareness from the physical shell. This allows the physical body to tend to itself while the personality, we associate with that body, explores further into other states of being.

The bottom line is those individuals that have entered into comas are absolutely fine. Our conscious awareness transcends this plane of time and space along with the physical vehicle, whether someone is asleep, in a coma, experiencing an altered state, or has passed on.

Transcending is an easy concept to toss around, but it’s not easy to imagine or understand if we haven’t actually been completely, consciously aware during our dreams or other altered states. If we are capable of retaining consciousness during out of body experiences or becoming lucid during dreams, then we are provided with a window into a truer nature of who we are; and often times, in a way that’s far more meaningful than our waking reality.

An individual that has entered into a coma is doing so for a reason that is beneficial for them at a deeper level of their being, but what that reason is can only be considered conjecture, to a certain extent, on my part. However, you are absolutely on the right track in considering that comas and astral projection have something in common. They both share the common bond of the expansive experience of our awareness beyond the physical body.

I’d like to thank Sheena for her thought provoking question.

Question: During out of body experiences I’ve encountered many sounds and sensations in my room, around my bed, and near my body. If our astral bodies are pure energy, then why would they create or make sounds we normally associate with our physical bodies? If these sounds and sensations are not related to our astral energy, then what do you think causes them? –Cynthia S.

Answer: The subject of astral “symptoms” is one that I’ve spent a lot of time experiencing, pondering, and writing about. There are many possibilities for answering your question.

Most of the out of body literature points to the fact the majority of sounds and sensations occur just prior to full projection. It seems to me there is an incredible amount of energy being built up during the pre-projection phase.

With that in mind, I have noticed an interesting coincidence between OBE symptoms and the encounters a lot of these ghost hunting groups stumble upon: there’s usually a sudden drop in temperature near the physical body, an increase in strange environmental sounds, internal shifts in awareness, the sensation of being touched, feeling off balance, compression and heaviness, and expansion of the self.

Mind you, these symptoms don’t always happen to astral travelers, nor do they always occur for ghost hunting groups. However, there are a lot of consistent similarities in the occurrence of these symptoms (in both groups) that crop up more frequently than by chance alone.

The only obvious answer for this, in my mind, would be due to changes in the electromagnetic fields around the physical body. This may be just as true for ghost hunters as it is for astral travelers. When ghost hunting groups walk into an area where high readings of electromagnetism are present, they usually encounter strange physical symptoms, along with paranormal experiences.

Since many of the encounters they experience are similar to the symptoms encountered by out of body travelers, it would stand to reason that the pre-projection phase may be causing an increase in the levels of the electromagnetic field around the physical vehicle.

Since we still have a connection to the physical body during the entire out of body experience, then the symptoms are probably due to our skin, ears, etc. detecting this large energy shift. In fact, I’m really interested in testing this theory. I’m going to purchase an electromagnetic field (EMF) detector and try to get some readings during the onset of these pre-projection symptoms. I’ll let you know about my findings.

Another possibility is that the sensations and sounds are related to the astral vehicle, through a mechanism we have no way of fully understanding. Robert Monroe, in his book Journeys Out of the Body, proved that the astral body has the ability to impact physical matter.

Monroe projected his consciousness and used his intentions to draw himself to the location of a coworker. Once there, he found her sitting at her kitchen table. He needed a way to make contact that would be obvious and could not be mistaken as a coincidence. So, he decided to try and pinch her just above the waistline. She flinched and let out a squeal. He was satisfied he had made sufficient and memorable contact.

A few days later he asked her about the circumstances and she confirmed something had indeed pinched her, but was uncertain what had caused it. She then raised her shirt just above her waistline to reveal a small bruise, in the exact same location, created by Monroe’s pinch while traveling the astral plane.

Robert Monroe’s ability to impact the physical environment mimics the abilities that ghosts (if they are truly conscious forms of energy) seem to possess. We think of ghosts as being vaporous aspects, minus any physical appendages, yet despite this fact they seem to be capable of moving physical objects and creating sounds.

So, our astral bodies may be causing very similar occurrences as we draw closer to projection. When we project we may have more in common with ghosts than we realize. The only difference is our consciousness is still partially attached to and simultaneously filtering through a physical body.

There are also theories that state noises and sounds, such as hearing your name being called out (I’ve experienced this during many projections), are stemming from other beings. As we raise our vibrational rate, we may be coming into contact with other entities just a dimensional shift away. If these other beings are the source of the sounds, it shouldn’t be too surprising that they are aware of our names. After all, the astral environment is comprised entirely of thought, similar to the physical Universe; only far more obvious.

I believe this may be a viable possibility since every environment essentially resides on top of one another with no true division. We share the same space with all of consciousness, physical and nonphysical. But we are vibrating at different rates; creating the impression of distance, separation and so on.

My explanations may not fully answer your questions, but I’m not sure anyone can say for certain what causes the noises and sensations associated with astral travel. When venturing into the out of body state, we must understand we are exploring experiences and territories that have not been thoroughly mapped out. Each one of us acts as an adventurer every single time we move into that realm.

Now, I don’t believe astral sounds and sensations are anything to be fearful of. I personally welcome them because they remind me of the fact, as humans, we are not even aware of one quarter of the different forms of energy that exists around us. Our five senses can only afford us interaction to a certain degree in this physical environment. But as we step into the means for altering our consciousness, we become aware of just how limited our physically focused viewpoint is.

One final idea- you may want to try asking for clarity as you are moving through the experience. Either during or right after you project, pose the question in your mind pertaining to the sounds and sensations and allow an answer to come to you. Many times I have tried asking for clarity regarding an experience I encountered on the astral plane.

Interestingly enough the answers I received were not at all what I was expecting. Whether this eliminates the fact I was answering my own question or not, I can’t say. However, we may always be answering our own questions from another perspective anyway. I believe our higher self is always helping guide us through out of body experiences.

And that does it for this question and answer installment. I’d like to thank Cynthia for her great question and you for taking the time to read this post. If you have any spiritual development or self help questions you would like to see addressed, feel free to contact me.
Question: My wife’s girlfriend averages visiting a psychic, three or four times a month. I’d like to hear your opinion about psychics, and more specifically, psychics that specialize in foreseeing the future?
-Carl H.

Answer: I feel we can take any information, no matter the source, and use it to our advantage or disadvantage. This is just as true of psychics as it is anything else. The main problem that can erupt, lies in our over reliance and dependence on these external forms of information. Your question leads me back into the area of thought I explore more frequently than any other in my posts- and that’s the understanding of our own spiritual power.

Every problem that we perceive ourselves having usually stems from some form of fear, whether in this physical focus of awareness or after we cross over (as in the case of some hauntings- depending upon how conscious ghosts are). Fear is only a misunderstanding of who we are, or better said- what we are and what we’re capable of.

Many people that rely consistently on psychics are working through their own levels of fear. They are in a place of transferring their power to someone that they perceive having abilities greater than their own. That’s not to say psychics cannot be of amazing benefit to people. The ones that specifically come to mind are psychic mediums that connect with energies that have crossed over.

Many times these individuals provide a form of closure for those that are grieving, which may not have been reached otherwise. In these cases, visiting a medium is extremely cathartic. But again, some people will begin to use mediums as a crutch to consistently try and communicate with those that have made their transition. This is where some of the more unscrupulous types will take full advantage of a vulnerable individual, further contributing to their feelings of disempowerment.

Now, as far as seeing a psychic with clairvoyant abilities- I believe there are multiple probable realities being born constantly out of our individual conscious awareness, along side the awareness of mass consciousness. Legitimate clairvoyants are tapping into one possible form of reality that has the potential for developing, but that doesn’t mean it will definitely unfold in the manner they perceive.

Our input is the driving force behind those events that occur at our level of reality. If someone concentrates heavily on the predictions set forth by a psychic (or the news media ? ) then they have been influenced by the power of suggestion. Absorbing the prediction and allowing it to influence their thought processes and actions will definitely bode in the favor of the psychic being correct more often than not.

While my answer in no way covers the entire spectrum of psychic phenomena, I feel we all possess these latent abilities. An occasional visit to a professional is great, especially if the person comes away feeling soothed and at peace, but if someone becomes reliant upon these sessions to function, then I don’t feel they are utilizing the psychic’s services in a beneficial way.

Question: I have a couple of personal questions for you. Do you have plans to write a book? Are you doing any forms of public speaking on the subjects you write about and talk about in your podcasts?

Answer: I’m not currently doing any public speaking. That area isn’t something I’m really interested in pursuing, but who knows? I could find myself following that path one day. Though, I’m actually extremely introverted when it comes to speaking in front of groups.

Now, I am very interested in writing a book, but I want it to be unique and have its own merits that haven’t been covered by others, because there are so many excellent books (in my area of interest) on the market already. With that being said, there’s also a part of me that feels I can provide the most benefit writing in the type of atmosphere I’m currently working with at Wind of the Soul.

There’s something about doing what I do for the absolute love and enjoyment of it without selling a product. I don’t want to feel like people have to pay me for the information that (I believe) inherently resides within us all, if we search for it.

Of course, I believe in having abundance in all areas of my life, including finances. Yet, that doesn’t mean I have to lose sight of my main purpose. I’d rather (at least for now) continue to work with advertisers, affiliates and receive voluntary donations, so that I’m free to give everything I have to my visitors, minus the need for selling. The day may come when I incorporate a few products into my site, but they will be extremely affordable and of high quality. I wouldn’t be comfortable offering them if they didn’t fit the bill on both counts.

I write and speak often about trusting in the natural flow of our life experience. That’s exactly what I continue to try and do with my work. I focus on providing what I have to offer to my visitors and trust that the natural flow of my life and the Universe will provide the abundance in a perfect unfolding.

If that unfolding eventually leads me to writing a regular book, e-book, or even public speaking, then I’ll know the time is right for doing it. But right now I’m extremely happy providing all of my content in this manner and no matter what, I’ll always continue to blog and record free audio content for Wind of the Soul. ?

And that does it for this question and answer installment. I’d like to thank both of my readers for sending in their questions. If you have any metaphysical, self help, or spiritual development type questions you would like to see addressed, feel free to send me an email.

Question: I’ve always been interested in whether or not our will has the potential to overcome universal laws like gravity?

Answer: That’s an excellent question. It’s one I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about as well. All of the scientific literature refers to gravity as a universal law. However, science (outside of some forms of the new physics) still refuses to acknowledge out of body experiences (OBE), near death experiences (NDE) and the dream world as legitimate encounters in which consciousness is interacting in other realities and environments. Despite this “oversight” by the scientific community, hundreds of thousands of people continue to embark upon these experiences via altered and expanded forms of consciousness, which cannot be explained away as elements of overactive imaginations.

I mention these other states of consciousness because they are the best tools we have for providing us with a picture of what other dimensional existences within our Universe look and feel like. Now anyone who has had a NDE, OBE or who has experienced flight during dream sequences can tell you gravity does not apply to these environments (it can, but it doesn’t have to). The locations in which these experiences occur are not removed from the Universe. While they obviously aren’t occurring in what we think of as the physical plane of existence, they are still taking place within aspects of our Universe.

Because of this, we can honestly say gravity is not a “universal” law which applies to all states of consciousness. It’s a law that applies to the physical place holder we use for consciousness and to the physical portion of our Universe. However, the physical portion makes up an extremely small percentage of the entire mass of the Universe itself. In other words, there appear to be more subtle energy environments out there (which may constitute where we go after death, during astral projection and dreams etc.) than there are physically substantial ones.

Next, we have to ask ourselves, why then does gravity appear to apply to the portion of the Universe where we spend the majority of our time focusing on these physical bodies? Again we can to look to the subtler energy environments within our Universe to answer that question. The subtler environments appear to be, to a certain extent, the source for what we see taking shape here in the physical plane. All material things bubble up to the surface of this denser portion of the Universe, out of what some people refer to as the un-manifest or as physicist David Bohm called the implicate order.

Ask any astral traveler and they’ll tell you there appears to be an almost exact energy duplicate (of the physical plane) present, which they enter into upon projecting. The further into the subtler environments they travel, the more this duplicate fades, sort of like an echo effect. I’ve had astral experiences where I’ve felt myself pulled through wormhole type structures that cease to have any form of material objects present when I exit out the other side. I interpret these events as signifying movement into other subtler forms of dimensional existences, which are even further removed (in thought, not in actual distance) from the physical portion of the Universe.

If our consensual agreement upon material objects, how they look, act and behave in this plane, continues on in some subtler planes, until eventually fading out, then that provides a clue. The initial agreement or thought consensus that makes up the rules and laws for this physical Universe is stemming from deeper levels of our consciousness. If laws like gravity are only in place due to highly intended thought processes which have been projected for eons, then that means gravity is obviously a pretty permanent fixture.

However, I don’t believe it’s impossible to override or else it would exist throughout all other dimensional layers of the Universe. The sheer fact gravity can fade from existence as we traverse the subtle realms means it doesn’t have true universal effect. But we can’t expect it to ever be overridden on a grand scale in the physical portion of the Universe. After all, the thought premise of gravity is what keeps this planet, we call home, fully functional along with every other stellar body and planet throughout our galaxy and the billions of others.

If we can begin to see gravity as nothing more than a manifestational representation of prolonged consensual thought, then that may change how we relate to it on an individual level. I believe a great example of someone who was able to understand gravity was nothing more than a construct of consistent thought was Christ.

My readers know I’m not a Christian, but I do feel there is validity to many of the stories of Christ’s “miracles.” Unfortunately they’ve been interpreted and re-interpreted in ways which have removed their true meaning, ultimately robbing people from understanding the power which lies dormant in all of us. Jesus’ message, as stated in the bible, was, “Ye Are Gods.” He then went on to perform tasks to prove this.

His message was to show what is possible if we tap into the god source power within us. He was not performing these abilities to be worshipped or show he was thee son of god, but rather to show we are all the son/daughter of god because each of us is god expressing itself through physical form.

One of his feats was the ability to walk on water. I believe this is a testament of his knowledge that physical laws are tools we can use to our advantage or suspend for a time being, based upon our ability to see through the veil of thought constructs. Now, whether he walked on water by altering gravity or by altering the water is not clear and probably wasn’t even important, but he still overrode physical concepts which most of us take for granted as being unchangeable.

I believe he did this through a deeper understanding of reality and the sheer knowledge that all things must bend to his (our) will. This wasn’t stemming from a place of dominance or a maniacal desire for control, but rather from a place of knowledge that all things (even in the physical environment) are responsive to our intentions.

The point is that gravity is merely another intention which has been set in place for so long most people don’t believe it’s possible to supersede it. I don’t even think Christ believed it. He bypassed belief and moved right into imagining, knowing and expecting (as I spoke of in my last post) his ability to impress, upon the slate of reality, his own desires.

The physical world is a beautiful, consistent and somewhat stubborn place, but it, like all other environments, sprung forth from highly focused thought and expectation. If we accept our role as the creators we are, tune our awareness to belief and eventually move beyond into knowing and expectation, then we too can alter any portion of our physical experience, including our body’s response to gravity.

As I sit here writing this post I can honestly say I’ve yet to overcome gravity (here in the physical plane), however it’s not something I’m actively pursuing. To overcome a consensual thought construct like gravity, our will and desire has to be tuned to a heat beyond white hot. Remember, each of us and all the other billions of lives which have focused their existence in this physical Universe have continued to reinforce the idea of gravity for centuries. The sheer power of group focus makes a rule (I like that word better than law) like gravity much more pronounced in its effect, however that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to override, even if just for a brief instance.

At this point you may be thinking, “Well doesn’t he always speak about the universal law of attraction? Does that mean we can overcome it as well?”

A lot of people, when they speak about the law of attraction, like to also mention the law of gravity as an example of the permanence of universal law. I believe the law of attraction (LOA) is probably getting a raw deal by always being referred to as a law and by getting grouped in with gravity. It’s more of a piece of the tapestry which is so interwoven into the fabric of consciousness there’s no escaping it. It’s beyond a law or a rule. It’s as much a part of us as our awareness is and it’s just as infinite. This is why I always refer to it by several different phrases, such as: intentionally creating our reality and deliberate creation. I do this because it prevents us from locking onto a single minded limiting concept of what it is.

As far as someone overcoming it- I would say the average individual believes they are overcoming it everyday whether they realize it or not- and guess what? They are overcoming it (at least it appears that way), through the act of denying their power. They believe life is something that’s happening to them, and so it does. They don’t realize they are the ones who are happening to life even in the middle of their denial.

This fact alone illustrates how powerful our belief and expectation is in influencing our life experience. People are so expectant of the idea they lack power that they consistently continue to manifest a life which is devoid of it. They expect that outcome as strongly as Christ expected he could walk on water. This is why the LOA is beyond law.

A law can be broken through our expectant desire. There’s no escaping our input in the creation of our reality, whether we believe in the idea or not because it fundamentally pulses through every part of our awareness and at every level of consciousness.

And that does it for this question and answer installment. I would like to thank the individual that sent in this great question. If you have any metaphysical, self-help or spiritual development type questions you would like to see addressed, feel free to contact me.

Question: I suffer from bouts of depression and you said you’ve experienced the same thing. I’ve tried working with my emotions and changing my thought processes to feel better, but I still find myself hitting rock bottom a lot. If we are God source energy, as you say, then why do we feel negative emotion?

Answer: I too occasionally have moments where I can feel myself slipping into that state of mind. I spent many years of habitually riding the rollercoaster of depression. I have to let myself off the hook on this subject, quite often, because I know I didn’t get into a routine of being a depressed person overnight. It took many years of thinking and feeling undesirable thoughts which stripped me of my power. These thoughts eventually developed into consistent responses within my brain, bringing on my states of depression even faster and more consistently.

There are tons of psychiatric based self help books addressing this subject; however the vast majority of them miss the underlying cause (in my opinion) for why people feel depressed. The field of psychiatry refuses to explore and acknowledge why human beings are even having the physical life experience in the first place.

They believe the entire array of emotions can be explained away by chemical responses and the firing or misfiring of neurons in the brain. Hence, the billion dollar industry of pharmaceutical drugs targeted at people with “emotional and psychological issues.” I’m not placing quotes around those terms to mock, but rather to illustrate more of the labels we place on people.

The feelings of depression and negative emotions, in general, are there for an excellent reason. The more we try to suppress those responses (via drugs or trying to ignore them) the more they come out in other ways. Negative emotions, such as depression, are letting us know what we are focusing upon and doing isn’t working.

When we defer to taking meds, we still continue many of the same patterns and routines, which elicited the depressed feelings; yet now we are performing them under a misty suppression of our true emotions. It’s little wonder many people take meds for these issues their entire lives. They never get around to addressing the cause because they’re too numb to feel for it.

Our emotions (and thoughts) are literally the language of the soul and serve as the tool for creating within the physical and non-physical Universes. They provide a constant link up between our human selves and the god source creative energy flowing through us. Yes, they have a chemical basis in the brain, but that’s not their only mechanism for functioning. Those chemicals are only the physical representation of our energy based feelings, just as our bodies are only the physical representation of our consciousness in this plane of existence. Feelings and emotions, like our consciousness go far beyond these bodies and brains.

When trying to understand why we experience negative emotion, beside the obvious answer- because we can; I always look to the explanation of one of my favorite teachers: Abraham-Hicks. They (Abraham) explain the cause of our negativity is because we are holding ourselves in a position our source energy will not simultaneously hold with us. Now you might be thinking, “wait a minute, he just said WE are god.”

We are god-source energy, but we also are these physical identities which function with human brains. The source energy which flows through us is only capable of experiencing love, joy, abundance, wellness, ecstasy etc. In other words, it only sees things from an ecstatic, thrilled emotional point of view.

When we, from our human perspective, feel anything less than desirable emotional states, we are receiving valuable communication from our “power” source. This communication is informing us we’re in the process of detaching from source’s point of view. We absolutely are god, but as we are a form of god that’s physically focused, we’re also commingling with these physical vehicles. It’s up to us how much of the full embodied god source point of view we choose to let through at any given time and our emotions are constantly clueing us in to this fact.

While I agree with Abraham’s teachings on this subject, I understand it may be extremely difficult for some people to absorb. An alternative option to looking at negative emotion from Abraham’s perspective is to understand that negative emotion is an unnatural state of being. This is why we feel uptight, anxious, stressed, scared, etc. when we are thinking negative thoughts.

Our body’s natural state is one of being relaxed and happy. This is where we function at our highest capacity. It’s all about finding anything (thoughts and activities) which brings us out of our negative or depressed states. Sometimes this won’t happen overnight. It’s a process of practicing and actively working with our emotions on a consistent basis.

The more consistently I’ve worked with this information, the better I’ve felt. While I still have rough days from time to time, I notice a lessening in the duration of my states of feeling upset or negative emotion. Prior to consciously working with my emotions, I would get into a funk for days on end. Now I’m able to turn something around within a few hours or even in just a few minutes.

From time to time, I also experience days of amazing joy. More extreme than anything I’ve ever felt before. The feeling is so intense I feel like I could burst wide open. It’s almost too intense to take. These are the days when I’ve caught glimpses of what it feels like to be completely in sync with the source that’s flowing through me. My goal is to continue working towards experiencing days like this all of the time.

The key is to be consistent in practicing to always feel for thoughts and emotions that help you feel just a little better incrementally. Remember, it took each of us a long time to pick up our negative distrustful thoughts. It takes practice, each and every day, to find something that feels better to think about or focus upon.

When you start having a bad day, let yourself off the hook for feeling that way. If you beat yourself up over it, you only continue to separate yourself further from your true power. It’s natural for everyone to have undesirable emotions from time to time, even people who are consciously aware of how important a role our emotions play in creating our life experience.

If you haven’t done so already, you may want to read my articles I’ve listed in the related posts below. All of these have fairly lengthy descriptions on the techniques I use and recommend for working with our emotions; along with ways to come into the full awareness of our source capabilities and power. If you still have more questions or need anything else, feel free to contact me anytime.

This will probably be my last post before the 25th, so Happy Holidays to all of my visitors and their loved ones.

Question: I’ve been reading about Hinduism lately. What are your thoughts on it?

Answer: I’m not well versed in Hinduism, but I am aware of the Hindu belief in reincarnation. While I absolutely share in the overall belief in reincarnation, I don’t share the Hindu explanation for its purpose and the variety of roles we may assume during each successive incarnation.

I believe that primarily, the energy which we think of as ourselves tends to continue utilizing the human physicality, from one life to the next. Of course this can become a little tricky because even though we all have our own separate identities, we simultaneously stem from the same nonphysical source energy. In other words I am really no different (at the energy level) than the plants and bushes I see out the window or the people that are taking walks along the street as I’m typing this.

I believe very strongly in a common unity, without any separation, at a very quantum level. We project ourselves into this illusionary physical plane, which appears to have huge gaping spaces between each of our existences, but if you could strip the projection down to its barest of essentials, you would find one solid source of energy creating and projecting the entire thing. I often refer to this projection source or god as an energy gestalt. I picked that phrase up from reading the Seth material by Jane Roberts and it’s stuck with me ever since.

I don’t believe we reincarnate to atone for past wrongdoings. I believe we reincarnate because it’s our nature to continue experiencing physical environments for the joy and pleasure of the life experience. This is why it’s so nice to look for things that make each of us joyful in our lives, and then pursue them for all their worth. If we look at all things being interconnected through this energy gestalt, then everything we experience in these physical forms not only benefits us, but also benefits that which we are projected from.

That’s why the reincarnation process is natural and ongoing and I don’t believe we ever truly transcend it, as some religions (which believe in it) suggest. Once we realize we are already god in physical form, there is nothing to transcend or ascend to, but it does take some deprogramming before many catch on to that fantastic bit of truth.

With regards to Hinduism, as it relates to religion in general- I believe (any) religion can be a great experience if it feels right and empowers the individual(s) involved with it. Unfortunately, that’s not usually the case. I like to look at religion as a stepping stone, but not a way of life. Religion introduced me to a lot of spiritual ideas that I then went on and pursued, on my own, far removed from the church’s heavy handed interpretations.

Again it comes down to your own inner awareness and what aids you in finding your connection to the power that flows through everything. If Hinduism, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism etc. does that on all levels for some people, then I feel that’s fantastic. But if they find themselves on a mission, searching for more than what religion can provide for them personally- they’re in good company.

Question: Do you believe in smudging or burning sage and incense for cleansing purposes? A friend of mine who’s into energy work recommends periodically using smudging sticks to clean out residual environmental energy and blockages.

Answer: I tried smudging sticks back when I first started encountering astral projection. My intention was to clear the air because of the intense experiences I would sometimes run into, but I ended up only using them a couple of times. Sage (here in New Mexico) smells great out on the mesas just after a rain storm, but not so great when it’s being burned within the confines of four walls.

Smell aside, I believe techniques such as burning sage have more to do with your intention and the relief it evokes within you, than it does with the actual smudging sticks or the physical process of burning the sage. I think you could just as easily burn other herbs, plants, or anything else and achieve similar effects, as long as you reach a place of feeling calmer about your environment, simply because of doing it.

Since harnessing energy (from our human perspective) is about our feelings and emotions; it’s important for you to work with whatever tools or techniques that help bring forth your confidence and restore comfort levels to the location you may be trying to cleanse. Try the sage and really get in tune with how the process makes you feel. If things seem less stagnate afterwards and you don’t mind the smell, then flame on, but I don’t think sage is an absolute necessity, even if you’ve been involved in a lot of metaphysical work.

And that’s it for this first question and answer post of September. I’d like to thank everyone for taking the time to email me their questions.

Since doing my first Q & A post I’ve had a couple of emails come in, specifically asking me to address their questions in my next installment:

Question: Recently, my children have been asking a lot of questions about death and dying. I’m pretty spiritual and open minded and have read a lot of metaphysical works about the whole process, but I still notice my own doubt and fear creeping in, while discussing the subject. Since I know you have had several spiritual type experiences, I was wondering if you still struggle with thoughts of your own demise?

Answer: That’s a great question. I have always said- I’m dreading dying, but looking forward to death. I know that may sound strange, so let me clarify a little: The actual process of dying is not something, which I have been able to happily embrace, but I believe the journey that takes place, the instant death sets in, is well worth the admission price.

I try and view it as being similar to getting prepped for surgery. There is all this worry and angst over what’s about to occur to your body, but the split second that solution in the IV drip kicks in- you’re out like a light, never even realizing what hit you, not a care in the world. While you’re out, during the surgery, there are all of these experiences that your body’s going through and when you awaken you don’t remember any of them, except for the awareness of the now present pain.

If you think about it, death is similar. Once you make the transition away from the physical plane, your energy essence is experiencing all of these amazing revelations about its true origins. It hasn’t a care in the world and is just being for the sake of being, until you once again awaken into the physical- not remembering any of the experience, except for the awareness of the now present pain (of being born again).

I believe the death process is actually much more involved than this and I’m not trying to be flippant with my surgery analogy. But, I like to use the comparison because it helps me lighten the mood surrounding the subject. I feel we make far too much of it.

Humans spend the majority of their adult lives worrying about dying, so much so that they just quit living. Most have passed away years before their bodies are ever actually cremated or buried. While I know it’s inevitable for us to ponder our future in the here after, I don’t believe we ever come forth into this physical environment with the intention of putting life on hold, while we worry over making our exits from this plane of focus.

I guess I’m different than most. I actually find myself fearing many aspects of life, at times, much more than I ever worry about death. My fear is something I’m working on, as I not only try to further inspire and empower my readers but also myself, in the process. I believe it’s important to embody what I write about and vice versa. Applying these principles is a continuing process of my own evolution.

Whether we fear aspects of life or death, fear is still fear. I believe it’s something to work through, not bulldoze our way through by forcing ourselves to face it, like so many advise. I’ve actually found that facing your fears, while still feeling the highly charged emotion of fear, is counterproductive.

It’s far more productive to soothe yourself (no matter how long it takes) prior to taking the action you are fearful of. Bring yourself into a state of confidence around the subject matter, prior to taking the step forward and your fear will fully dissipate, because you will have conquered it emotionally as well as physically. When you take physical action without first addressing the emotional basis of your fears, it’s similar to placing a band-aid on a gaping wound that needs stitches. It may hold for a short while, but it’s not solving the problem.

I would suggest you continue exploring, reading and researching whatever works and experiences help calm your emotionally based fears surrounding death, and in the process don’t forget about living your life. As you take those steps to continue soothing yourself through your exploration, allow some nice distractions from the subject matter (through anything that makes you happy) as well. Explore, relax, breath, and enjoy life for the sake of living it and you will reach a different vantage point on the subject of death.

I believe the only reason most of us truly fear death is because we are not living our lives to the fullest. We may feel that we have missed out on things or opportunities and time is now slipping away. Nothing could be further from the truth. We are all ever lasting energy, with all the time in the world. While our physical bodies reach a point of expiration, the true essence of who we are never does. The sooner we come to that understanding, the better off we are.

About my spiritual experiences (astral projections, etc.): I believe all of us are consistently having spiritual experiences. Everyday life is a spiritual experience, whether we are physically focused or non-physically focused. No matter how far removed we see ourselves from being spirit or energy; we always are that which we began as- no exceptions. A favorite line of mine from the book Way of the Peaceful Warrior, which I believe speaks to this, is: There are no ordinary moments.

Things like astral projections just seem more spiritual and beyond ordinary because a large portion of society is not accustomed to experiencing them consciously. My out of body experiences have proven to me, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that life extends beyond the physical vehicle. While I can’t be one hundred percent certain about the exact details of what awaits us, after we pass- I will say that we most definitely continue on and I don’t believe there is anything in the great beyond, which is worthy of a shred of our anxiety.

Question: Since you seem to be heavily into the idea of your thoughts creating your life and reality, I was wondering if you are cautious about what you mentally consume?
– Shelley A.

Answer: Shelley, thanks for your question. I absolutely am very aware of what I allow to inform, educate and entertain me. I really don’t watch much television, except for an occasional sitcom and usually shows like Ghost Hunters, and Ghost Whisperer. I also happily never, ever catch the news (local or national).

I haven’t been to the theater, to watch a movie, in almost a year because of the typical subject matter Hollywood predominantly chooses to focus upon. The majority of DVDs I watch are either on supernatural things or spiritual empowerment and personal development. I definitely adhere to a pretty steady diet of anything that’s mind expanding or positive and uplifting, whether it’s books, Cd’s or videos. I will occasionally watch “horror” films, but they are always more supernaturally based than the shock and gore type that’s out there.

I don’t begrudge anyone else of their personal preferences for entertainment or education though. These just happen to be the things I prefer to spend my time involved in because, as you stated, I believe that what we predominantly focus upon expands. We definitely are what we think, and our thinking can be heavily influenced (both consciously and subconsciously) by what we watch, hear and read. I’m passionate about my own growth and life expansion and it’s only natural that I’m predominantly involved in pursuits that aid in this endeavor.

And that does it for my second question and answer post. I’d like to thank Shelley and the other individual for their questions.
I’ve been receiving some emails recently, containing specific questions, about the site and about my views and opinions, on a variety of metaphysical, and even some religious subject matter. So, I decided to feature a couple of them in a question and answer series. I’d love for this to become a regular feature because I feel it helps me to clarify my views on certain subjects and it allows me to cover some grey area that my posts, so far, haven’t quite covered.

It also provides me with an idea of where my visitors are coming from and what areas I may need to be more specific about. If you have questions on anything related to the subjects I regularly discuss and would like to see them featured in an upcoming post, please feel free to send me an email. Your name and email address will always be kept private, unless you request otherwise.

Question: You’ve said you are not a psychic and you are not gifted with any psychic like abilities. What makes you knowledgeable or an expert at giving the advice you give?

Answer: Outside of being very empathic, it’s true I’m not all that psychic. I would never give advice to people about specific events or circumstances in their lives, from the point of view that I am some sort of viewer or seer. And I’ve never claimed to be an expert.

I’ve only claimed to be someone that’s passionately seeking and actively pursuing ways to provide some clarity on mysteries out there. I have been interested in this type of information for years and through hours and hours of reading and research, along with many personal experiences, I feel I can relate my ideas, in the hope they will benefit my visitors.

I feel it’s important to again mention how vital it is to weigh out what you read, even though I discussed it in my last post, Exploring Reincarnation: Part 1, because it helps to answer your question.

I encourage all of my visitors to only take away, from my posts, what resonates and feels true within themselves. I write what I feel to be my personal truths in the hope it stimulates my visitors to approach the subject from a different standpoint. While that standpoint may not agree with mine, that’s okay. In fact that’s great because we aren’t all going to see things in the same way. This is what makes our unique perspective so unique, creative and amazing.

As long as my visitors are feeling and thinking their way through my posts and listening to their own guidance and awareness- that’s what matters. It’s this stimulation of thought and feeling that helps us to expand.

Question: You have spoken some about religion, but I’d like to know your opinion on religious figures like Jesus.

Answer:I feel that the great icons, from all the religions around the world, were truly amazing people. The keyword though, is people. I don’t believe that Christ, Buddha or Mohammed were any different from you or me. I feel that each one of them however, were truly, fully connected (the majority of the time) to the mystical energy that flows through each of us.

We all have the same potential to be Christ-like or Buddha-like or whomever-like if we reach for it and feel our way there. We also have the option of being as little like them as we choose- we simply have to keep ourselves constantly in a place of struggle, battling with the natural flow of life and letting our undesirable emotions rule our temperament, until that mission is accomplished.

Each of us has the ability to be as unfettered, free and amazing or as bound, restrained and miserable as we choose. I believe these were the prominent tenants that people like Christ taught, not fire and brimstone sermons about repenting and fearfully trying to obtain God’s appeasement.

We are already worthwhile individuals that have never had to be forgiven or become something better than we currently are to please some deity. I believe we all are the creator known as god- our greatness is implied, we only have to relinquish the typical human struggle and look within to find it- that’s why Christ stated the kingdom of heaven lies within.

And that’s it for my first question and answer post. I’ve really enjoyed answering questions in the public format of my blog, because there may be other visitors that are curios about these same questions. I definitely look forward to doing this again soon and I encourage anyone who has a specific question to please contact me.

If this post has been helpful to you, please consider sharing it with others and/or making a donation. Thank you for supporting Wind of the Soul.
