Have you ever questioned whether or not consciousness is only reserved for living, breathing creatures? What if inanimate objects possessed a similar potential for awareness or consciousness, as say- a human being or an animal? While it may sound like a stretch to suggest that non-living things have awareness, if you have been following a few of my past entries like The Energy Matrix, then it should come as no surprise that that’s exactly what this post suggests- well, almost.

There are people that have had encounters with objects and things that seem to be capable of giving off information. It usually comes in the form of feelings or emotions. In psychic circles this can be called psychometry, divination, being an empath, or being empathic.

An individual gifted at psychometry will pick up information by placing their hands on an object. In the case of an empath, they are usually receivers of information about other people’s feelings or emotions. It becomes pretty obvious to the empathic person that the energy and emotions they are receiving are not stemming directly from themselves. A sensitive person can bump into energy thought forms that are totally outside of their own natural emotional inclinations at that moment. For most, this usually occurs when walking into a new environment, especially if it’s a room full of people.

What about situations where a room or structure is free of people, yet the environment seems to be producing the strong surges of emotion and imagery? This could be due to past activity in the area that has left an energetic fingerprint on the structure and landscape, or it could be information (in the form of thought) that’s passing through the environment, which seems to be emanating from the structure. Either way, the energy matrix theory can help us to understand this phenomenon.

In The Energy Matrix, I wrote about the prospect of our entire Universe existing more as a giant sea of energy, than as a purely physical environment. We swim through its current from the time we are born until the time we die and beyond. This sea is made up of consciousness itself and permeates all things. Everything, animate and inanimate, is derived from within this sea.

This is why structures and people are capable of revealing their emotional states, to those that are “listening”, without ever saying a word. While an inanimate object may not be thinking or literally feeling, it is swimming in the same ocean that we are, and its physical makeup is derived from the same emotionally conscious energy that creates what we perceive as our physical bodies and our entire physical Universe.

Strange Dreams

I can recall my first in-your-face encounter with this ocean of energy. It happened one night, about eighteen years ago. I awoke from a dream whose content escaped me immediately, but whose impact would be felt for the rest of my life. Normally I have fantastic dream recall, especially when I’m startled awake in the middle of one, but this was very different. As I came to, I almost fell out of bed, sweat profusely pouring down my face, completely shaken and oblivious to where I was.

I found my bearings, and became aware of my bedroom and an intense feeling emanating and pulsating from the walls. This is the point in the story where I should state that I’ve never experimented with any form of recreational drug, since it’s probably relevant to what I’m about to describe: The walls of my room were dripping with heavy emotion. I could immediately detect that these feelings were outside of my own, as they flooded towards me from another source. I pulled myself into the fetal position as the flow continued to overwhelm me. I was being bombarded by a barrage of emotion. It was beyond anything I had ever encountered and probably could rival any drug trip, had I decided to experiment with them.

Permanently Altered

I remember struggling to recall the content of my dream and drawing a complete and total blank. Upon waking I could immediately feel a change within myself and knew I was profoundly affected at an extremely deep level. For the next week my senses felt heightened and every environment I encountered, whether it was at home or school caused an awareness of emotion and imagery that seemed to stem externally from my own thoughts and feelings.

After several days, things began to return to normal and I was capable of experiencing interactions without encountering this rush and surge of emotional energy. I can recall being relieved that the experience was over; however something about my levels of perception had been permanently altered.

The same dream has come and gone many times over the course of the last eighteen years- each time bringing with it the same results and each time a more profound change within me. The funny thing is that I still have no idea what the dream is about, but it leaves behind such a distinct feeling that I can instantly recognize its return to my awareness.

The inner changes that these experiences have brought about are more intense during the initial days following the dream, yet I always have a residual “aftertaste” that lingers on until the next dream hits. What ultimate purpose this serves and why I am having these reoccurring dreams is somewhat a mystery to me.

This capability to perceive the flow of emotional energy doesn’t help me connect to anyone’s loved ones who have passed on, the way many psychics are capable of doing, nor does it provide insight into the future. But it does remind me, on a daily basis; just how powerful our emotions are and how they are the guiding force that seems to drive the sea of energy which makes up our lives.

The more I stay connected to this understanding, the easier my life flows. Most of us are aware that our emotions play a major role in how well an event in our life transpires and unfolds. In other words- if we enter into something with a very positive outlook, we tend to thrive in the experience, no matter what comes our way. On the other hand, if we enter into something from a place of dread or fear, the event we are anticipating typically takes on the dreadful outcome or some form of a dreadful outcome that we expected from the beginning.

It’s no coincidence that we are capable of consciously feeling our way through our lives if we choose to do so. It’s intentionally designed this way and hardwired into the system, because emotional energy is what drives this entire Universe.

Using Emotions to Our Advantage

The question is- just how far impacting are emotions upon reality? The only way to truly answer that question is to experiment for yourself. I’m not suggesting you try and have bizarre dreams (like me) that “haunt” you for the rest of your life. I am suggesting you become aware of your emotions for the next several days to weeks. Consciously take note of how you’re feeling when a strong surge of emotion wells up within you- good or bad. Internally make a note of it, and continue to do the same each time you feel strongly on any subject. Then watch in the coming days for anything that may enter into your life which mirrors those emotions.

This exercise typically takes a little consistency before you begin to notice a correlation between what you’re feeling and receiving, but hey, if you’re going to have to go about your daily business anyway, you may as well stay in touch and be aware of your feelings.

Basically, I’m suggesting that the more optimistic you feel and the more you gravitate towards thoughts that feel good, the more beneficial your interactions and experiences will be. And on the reverse side, the more time you spend complaining, worrying, and being fearful, the more those types of experiences will find their way into your life.

Too many people travel through their lives letting their emotions create knee jerk reactions without even being consciously aware of why they are motivated to act in such a manner. They are out of touch with how they are predominantly feeling as they operate on autopilot.

Give it a try over the course of the next week, or two, or three, to see if the things that enter your life- from the interactions you have with people at work, in the grocery store, and on the street, to the material objects and circumstances which come your way are mirroring your attitude and emotions. Again, those few weeks are going to pass by anyway, why not take advantage of them and conduct an experiment to determine how much influence you have over your reality.

Once you have taken notice of the impact your emotions have on your daily life, then you can start to purposely direct your energy towards having the experiences and outcomes you desire.
